Post-Viral Fatigue Syndrome
Post-viral fatigue syndrome is characterized by the sudden or gradual onset of persistent fatigue in a previously healthy individual following a viral infection. The diagnosis is based on the patient’s medical history and the exclusion of other medical conditions that may cause fatigue. Initial management focuses on symptom relief and improving functional capacity. Treatment may include graded physical activity, cognitive behavioral therapy, and medications for coexisting conditions such as depression.
