Drug intolerance is an exaggerated or unexpected sensitivity to a medication that occurs at therapeutic doses and is not mediated by an immune mechanism. It differs from a drug allergy because it does not involve an immune response. Symptoms vary depending on the medication and may include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, headache, gastrointestinal discomfort, or excessive pharmacological effects.
