Cutaneous Larva Migrans

Cutaneous larva migrans is a superficial parasitic skin infection caused by the larvae of animal hookworms, most commonly those of dogs and cats. It is one of the most common parasitic infections in travelers returning from the Caribbean, Mexico, Brazil, and Southeast Asia. The condition is characterized by intensely pruritic, serpiginous skin lesions, most commonly affecting the feet.
