Mixed connective tissue disease is a health condition in which symptoms of systemic lupus erythematosus, scleroderma, myositis, and rheumatoid arthritis occur due to high concentrations of autoantibodies against U1 ribonucleoprotein. Symptoms are treated with cytotoxic immunosuppressive therapy. Mixed connective tissue disease most commonly affects women between the ages of 20 and 40 years.
